Meet the person behind the pieces
Hi, I'm Anna—an artist based in Bonstetten-Wettswil, just outside Zurich, where I create functional stoneware inspired by nature and designed for everyday living.
My work is rooted in the belief that the objects we use every day shape the way we experience home. Through handmade collections, bespoke commissions and workshops, I hope to create pieces that bring beauty, calm and connection into people's lives.
How it all began
Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Before discovering ceramics, I spent many years drawing and painting before studying art history. I've always been fascinated by the relationship between materials, craftsmanship and the stories that handmade objects can tell.
I fell in love with clay from the first time I worked with it. I was drawn to its tactile nature and to the process of transforming something as simple as earth into a beautiful and functional object. What began as curiosity gradually became both my profession and my way of expressing creativity.
Today I work from Atelier 9B, where I design my own collections and create bespoke commissions for homes and businesses. I also host occasional workshops and wheel classes, inviting others to discover the joy of working with clay.
The studio has become more than a place for making ceramics—it's a space for sharing creativity, learning from one another and building a small community around a shared love of clay. Through open studio sessions, I hope to create an environment where people can continue their own creative journey while enjoying the company of fellow makers.
Originally from Poland, I've called Switzerland home for more than a decade. Living close to forests and mountains continues to influence both my work and the rhythm of my creative process. Many ideas begin away from the studio—during a walk, while observing textures in nature or simply noticing the beauty of everyday moments.
Today, ceramics have become much more than my profession. They are my way of connecting with people, creating lasting objects and building a creative community through Atelier 9B.
What matters

Nature doesn’t follow trends, and neither do I. It is endlessly varied, imperfect, calming and timeless. I return to its colours, textures and rhythms again and again because they never lose their beauty. Rather than chasing what is fashionable today, I look for forms that feel familiar, grounded and lasting.

I don’t try to erase every fingerprint or tool mark. Quite the opposite. The subtle traces left by the making process remind us that every piece was shaped by a person, not produced by a machine. Small irregularities, gentle distortions and visible marks give an object warmth, character and a story of its own.

The objects we live with every day deserve to be chosen carefully. I believe the most meaningful pieces are the ones we never grow tired of—pieces that become part of our lives instead of demanding attention. Rather than chasing seasonal trends, I slowly create work that feels timeless and can accompany you for many years.

Our surroundings influence how we feel. I want my work to contribute to homes that feel calm, harmonious and joyful. Objects don’t need to be loud to be beautiful. Sometimes the greatest luxury is living with things that bring comfort, slow us down and make everyday rituals a little more meaningful.
